Biggest issue is IMHO to have an ontology (or whatever) to "translate" templates (and their parameters), other markup, style (e.g. units of measure), categories; ideally, even sources where they are multilingual. Google Translator Toolkit claimed to be able to learn even markup, on the wikis where it was used some years ago for big article creation drives. --Nemo 15:35, 4 May 2013 (UTC)
- Maybe in the near future with visual editor we can just highlight text need to be translated? --Simon Shek/石 (talk) 15:39, 4 May 2013 (UTC)
- That may help, but if you can't "translate" the underlying template names and parameters that's not much useful. It could rather mean that, with the visual editor, such tasks will be "left behind" and become (relative to the rest) even less supported/easy. --Nemo 15:43, 4 May 2013 (UTC) P.s.: I've added more links to m:Wikipedia_Machine_Translation_Project#See_also.
I found this submission which, despite the misleading title, is on the same topic: Submissions/Reproducing a featured article into other languages by coordinated effort. --Nemo 08:15, 12 May 2013 (UTC)
