- WikiGrafia helps these people illiterate through pictures substituting phrases to enjoy a Wikipedia that can expand. The project is scheduled for WikiGrafia that more people can enjoy what is an online encyclopedia and totally free.
- Detailed proposal
- WikiGrafia is a project for millions of illiterate people can enjoy the largest free encyclopedia world through photographs, substituting words or phrases imaging. WikiGrafia will look like all pages belonging to the Wikimedia Foundation. When the search engine, which can be used by any person who can write what the applicant requests or with an ingenious system that, with a microphone connected to your computer or laptop, asking to speak to your preferences, the search will speak through a system Voice-Off saying if that's the page you requested. WikiGrafia begin with a photo holding the top, and concerned about the person, kind, object, or illness. The index will little icons, like a cross if it is death, whether it is a baby on birth, etc..
- The photos will be some of Wikimedia Commons and that there is no will be downloaded from the Internet. A server Wikimedia determine if the photo is suitable for content, such as the photo of Albert Einstein's Theory of Relativity. Furthermore WikiGrafia will, the right side, an HTML redirect to the same page that appeared in WikiGrafia, only on Wikipedia, so the reader you feel ready to begin a new stage of reading. Opening the Wikipedia page will open another browser window and, if in doubt, WikiGrafia again and see what word you do not understand in the Glossary will be at the bottom. When you click the word you do not understand, redirected to the photo, but this itself is surrounded by a blue square.
