- Detailed proposal
- Burmese is one of world's major 50 languages. Yet, Myanmar Wiki community is still relatively small. But today numbers of active Wikipedian and article counts are quite a development during recent years. Myanmar Wikipedia was started in 2005 Dec with over a hundred articles. The very first problem we encountered was the encoding of Burmese script. And it still is a major problem till now. There are many pseudo Unicode fonts which are not compatible with the standard Unicode system. Contributors are confused in choosing the fonts and keyboards. Moreover, there were strict internet censorship, black-out electricity and very slow internet speed. This topic will briefly explain up and down, obstacles and successes of Myanmar Wiki project development.
