Abstract

Did you know that you have 7+ ways to access Wikipedia while offline ? From Mobile to OLPC and WiFi hotspot, we'll describe all of them with tips and hands-on.

Detailed proposal

Kiwix is the most advanced Wikipedia (and other contents) reader for offline use.

Started as a mean to offer content to rural students in Africa, it has grown and expanded to support a large number of use cases and people.

In this talk, you will:

  • Discover the different ways to use Kiwix
  • Get tips on Kiwix and how to get most of it.
  • Learn about how, where and who is using Kiwix around the globe.
  • Get a chance to practice and install Kiwix on your devices.
  • Learn how you can help us :)
