- Abstract
The FDC was created in mid 2012 to effectively allocate movement funds to achieve Wikimedia’s mission, vision, and strategy. One year, two rounds and fifteen proposals later, the FDC has learned a tremendous amount about movement resource allocation and the role it can play in the movement. They will share their perspective, too, on what kind of difference this funding model is making, and what kind of results have been seen to date. They’ll share what they’re seeing across the movement in terms of good practice from some of the Year 1 entities.

This session will provide the FDC members and ombudsperson to share their learning and experiences in the first year. It will also give attendees a chance to ask questions about the FDC process. The session will also allow the FDC members to describe and share the process the FDC has used to make its decisions and to share more about the background of the committee. This will also present a chance to ask the FDC questions about its work, including how it evaluates proposals, and what it would like to see in future applications.
