Query page
'Wikimedia Israel confirms that we received the following fee out of this expected fee for attending Wikimania 2013 in Haifa, Israel: ', seems it needs to be modified to 'Wikimedia Hong Kong confirms that we received the following fee out of this expected fee for attending Wikimania 2013 in Hong Kong: ' --Shujen Chang (talk) 07:04, 22 February 2013 (UTC)

delay of payment
Seems there's a delay after payment, it will still appears '0.00 out of 45.00 USD (Still not paid in full)' until mail the registration team with transaction ID. Hope can fix that, to make the system confirm automatically after the payment. --Shujen Chang (talk) 17:06, 22 February 2013 (UTC)
- It's working as expected.--Simon Shek/石 (talk) 18:49, 22 February 2013 (UTC)
Forgot to add the discount code
Hi, I forgot to add the discount code during registration, how can I add it. Whom can I speak about that?--Beko (talk) 09:22, 11 March 2013 (UTC)
- Send me an email with your full name and confirmation code, and we'll look into that.--Simon Shek/石 (talk) 00:51, 12 March 2013 (UTC)
Scholarship discount
Hi! I'm filling in the registration form and I have a question regarding the scholarship discount code. When I submit it, it says:
Conference: USD 45 VAT: USD 0 Total: USD 45
But the total should be 0. Is this OK? Do I send it this way? Thanks in advance for the answer, Mel 23 (talk) 14:30, 7 April 2013 (UTC)
- Instead of using what told in the email, a discount code should be used in the Payment. It will send to all full scholarship recipients within this week.--Simon Shek/石 (talk) 05:39, 8 April 2013 (UTC)
Warning from Firefox about registration page
I just tried to open the online registration form and was confronted with:
You have asked Firefox to connect securely to registration.wikimedia.hk, but we can't confirm that your connection is secure. Normally, when you try to connect securely, sites will present trusted identification to prove that you are going to the right place. However, this site's identity can't be verified.
What Should I Do?
If you usually connect to this site without problems, this error could mean that someone is trying to impersonate the site, and you shouldn't continue.
If you understand what's going on, you can tell Firefox to start trusting this site's identification. Even if you trust the site, this error could mean that someone is tampering with your connection. Don't add an exception unless you know there's a good reason why this site doesn't use trusted identification.

Should I re-register ?
Hi, I applied for a scholarship, and the last mail I got was telling that I was in a list of 700 people for a second round of pruning. So my question is, should I also fill this form? --Psychoslave (talk) 14:33, 12 April 2013 (UTC)
- We have emailed all scholarships applicants about our final decision on 7 April 2013. Please check your email. If you do not received the notification, please email us.--Simon Shek/石 (talk) 18:44, 12 April 2013 (UTC)
- Thank you, I just checked and indeed received a mail saying
- The Wikimania 2013 Scholarships Program Committee has finished the application reviews for Wikimania 2013 in Hong Kong, August 7 - 11! Your application qualifies for a Wikimedia chapter scholarship, and we would like to inform you that your application information has been shared with a Wikimedia chapter and for the final selection process.
- So it's not completely clear to me, as it's talking about a final selection process, but it seems my scholarship was mostly accepted . Now should I register through this form ? If I should contact you through email, please tell me which one. Should I contact wikimania-scholarships * wikimedia * org ? --Psychoslave (talk) 13:07, 13 April 2013 (UTC)
- It means your application is not selected by Wikimedia Foundation and still depending for a final decision from one chapter or more. You can email the said address if you would like to.--Simon Shek/石 (talk) 13:53, 13 April 2013 (UTC)
- Ok, thank for the clarification. So, should I re-register here if it happen that this chapter commission accept my scholarship? --Psychoslave (talk) 14:36, 13 April 2013 (UTC)
- No need to register again. If that happens, email us with your registration details, and we will look into it.--Simon Shek/石 (talk) 14:44, 13 April 2013 (UTC)
- Ok, thank you for all your informative replies. --Psychoslave (talk) 07:17, 15 April 2013 (UTC)

"Too many people accessing the website at this time"
The registration page says "Too many people accessing the website at this time. Please try later." It would be unfortunate if people miss the early registration deadline because the site is inaccessible. --Seav (talk) 01:08, 14 April 2013 (UTC)
- I don't know how many, but I know of one (me) --93.135.173.159 11:56, 14 April 2013 (UTC)
- This is still happening five days later - should I try a different time of day, or is there an ETA on when it will be available? -- Chuq (talk) 07:50, 19 April 2013 (UTC)
- For the record I just tried this again and was successful :) -- Chuq (talk) 08:03, 23 April 2013 (UTC)

Early bird
I just went to register today, April 14, before Early bird registration closes, but the system wants to charge me the higher price of $58.00. Eclecticology (talk) 02:07, 15 April 2013 (UTC)
About cancellation policy
For personal reasons, I'm not able to attend Wikimania 2013, so I want to cancel my registration and got refund. In Modification Policy, it is said "You may change your reservations, including changing dates and accommodations at no cost (except the handling charge fee)." and "Modification/cancellation for registration and/or accommodation is possible until June 1st, 2013". So, it seems if I submit my cancellation request now, I will got refund without penalty and handling fee (it is before June 1st, 2013).
However, when I send my request to wikimania-registrationwikimedia.org, I got the reply "No refund will be issued."
So, what is it mean? Is it means only modification before June 1st is no penalty and handling fee? and cancellation cannot got refund even though before the deadline? If so, it is really not clear on the Modification Policy page! --Shujen Chang (talk) 15:56, 15 April 2013 (UTC)
Need to register when you receive a WMF scholarship
Hi, I received a WMF scholarship and I am wondering if I still have to register and pay the conference cost, or is that included? It was not really clear to me from the email. Best, John Andersson (WMSE) (talk) 09:31, 4 May 2013 (UTC)
- Hi John, if you go through your decision email again, you should find a code unique to you that you can enter on the conference and dorms registration forms where it ask you if you have a discount code. -- KTC (talk) 09:46, 4 May 2013 (UTC)
- Hmm, I have again read through the "Wikimania 2013 scholarship update", the "Partial Scholarship Acceptance letter" and the "Partial Scholarship Reminder letter". I have not received any other email and I cannot find the information that you are talking about in anyone of these emails.
- In the "Partial Scholarship Acceptance letter" it only says "CONFERENCE REGISTRATION AND ACCOMMODATIONS Registration: Please register at the Registration Website. Accommodations: You may pay and reserve dorm accommodations on the web site. There will also be a list of suggested hotels on the web site that you can book directly with."
- Can you be more specific what I should be looking for and in what email? Best John Andersson (WMSE) (talk) 01:14, 5 May 2013 (UTC)
- Both full and partial scholarship recipients need to register at the online registration form for wm2013 and accommodation (if you stay in the dorm). Quote from Scholarship:
- Full scholarships will cover round trip travel, dorms accommodations, and registration
- Partial Scholarships will part of travel expenses to Wikimania, up to 50% of the estimated air fare from your nearest international airport according to Getting to Hong Kong. Dorms accommodations and registration are not covered in the partial scholarship.
- In your case, partial scholarship, expenses for accommodations and registration will be your responsibility. If you have not book your travel, registered and plan your accommodation yet, please do so. Thank you. --Simon Shek/石 (talk) 05:22, 5 May 2013 (UTC)
- My apology, I had incorrectly assumed from your initial post that you were receiving a full scholarship. KTC (talk) 16:11, 5 May 2013 (UTC)

Upgrade
I would like to upgrade from only Wikimania to Preconference and Wikimania. What do I have to do? Marcus Cyron (talk) 18:49, 25 June 2013 (UTC)
- According to Schedule: The Pre-Conference hacking days and Unconference are open to all attendees. rz (talk) 18:52, 26 June 2013 (UTC)

Payment problem
I paid the registration fee 3 days ago. It asked me to pay 58 dollars on the registration page, maybe because I was registered few months ago but not paid fee at the time. But problem is that after the successful payment process in the registration website it says that I have not paid fee. And asks me to pay 58.00 USD one more time. I wrote about the problem to the following e-mail addresses: simon.shek@wikimedia.hk, wikimania-registration@wikimedia.org, wikimania-p@wikimedia.hk, wikimania-l@lists.wikimedia.org. But no one answers what to do. I started dispute on PayPal for refund and decided to register once again to pay 79.00 USD but it's also impossible, because it says "Someone has registered with the same name and e-mail address. It's possible you have submitted twice or you have refreshed the registration page." So help is needed. Wertuose (talk) 06:50, 2 July 2013 (UTC)
- The problem is solved. Wertuose (talk) 15:37, 2 July 2013 (UTC)
