In the past few years we have seen a growing trend in Wikimedians covering public events. This results in high-quality illustrations to be used in the various Wikimedia projects and beyond that in establishing Wikimedia Commons as a top resource of media in any domain.
There have been several initiatives to empower our volunteer photographic storytellers, for example by providing better equipment or helping in media accreditations. Building up on the experience of our panelists, this session will review examples of such initiatives to define a set of best practices in this field.
