Re the comment "Veteran Wikimedians also know that there are Wikipedias in other languages" I think that English Wikipedia editors have been in the minority at every recent Wikimania, except I suspect 2012 in Washington DC. WereSpielChequers (talk) 00:27, 18 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I think that refers to the meta community as a whole ;) See submissions to see what those paragraphs have evolved into. Deryck Chan (talk) 08:32, 18 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

boost for GLAM

WMDE is about to invite a CEO of an outstanding GLAM institution to come to join us in a GLAM session to talk about his experience cooperating with WMDE. His English is excellent. How would You like to integrate him further?--Barbara Fischer (WMDE) (talk) 12:42, 28 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

City tour?

Are there any tours planned this time? Rehman 01:28, 16 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Not yet. The local team is obtaining quotations from tour companies. Deryck Chan (talk) 14:09, 20 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the reply. If there would be such tours, it would be held on or after the 7th, and before 13th, right? Because now's the time to book flights, and if these extra events (which many would like) pop up outside the normal schedule dates after booking flights, it'll be quite disappointing. August 10, 11:30-13:00 slot

Hi, I know that is impossible to draft a schedule which makes everyone happy, but on the 11:30-13:00 slot of August 10 there is a significant overlapping regarding outreach related sessions that maybe can be adjusted. If it's not possible to change much I would suggest to move at least the workshop. The Outreach in Europe session provides some insights that could be very interesting and useful for someone interested in Wiki-GLAM collaborations, and even if the Outreach to Women session won't be specifically about GLAM a lot of outreach events directed to women are held in GLAM institutions. On the other hand, the workshop can give very useful tools to all who engage in GLAM related activities, being an unique opportunity to learn how to do better in this field. It would be a pity if people would have to choose between it and the aforementioned sessions. --Atropine (talk) 10:43, 21 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Schedule for activities after the official programm

Hi, I was wondering whether there is a site in the wiki to post wikimeetups like this one: Commons:Photowikimeetup in Hong Kong during Wikimania 2013. Apart from getting some support to promote the event, it would be great if we can count on some local help to support us with the organisation and actual meeting. Legal

I guess the second 'Legal I' is to be renamed as 'Legal II'. Didn't make the changes because the same is the organisers' prerogative. DebashisM (talk) 11:58, 4 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Day trip tours

I recently discussed travel vaccinations with my doctor in preparation for this trip, who asked if I would be visiting only Hong Kong or mainland China as well. I remember reading discussions of potential day trips to Macau or Shenzhen before/after the conference. I've checked here and Talk:Excursions but I can't seem to find reference to any official (or informal) plans? -- Chuq (talk) 03:14, 7 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Unfortunately we won't be able to arrange tours for attendees. However, we'll post suggestions onto the Excursions page soon. Attendees can then use this wiki to organize themselves together and book the tours. Deryck Chan (talk) 16:39, 20 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Pre-Conference Day - EU Policy

Me and User:theredmonkey want to present the EU policy project at the pre-conference on Thursday. We'd like to have a table or a room from 12-15, but we'd be flexible if that's not possible. I didn't want to add the changes to the schedule on the page, since I don't seem to get the design. --Dimi z (talk) 15:31, 18 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Please fix the page

On my smaller-than-usual screen, the topmost image overlaps the schedule and the schedule cannot be read. Thanks. Risker (talk) 21:17, 18 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Testing on my computer (by arbitrarily zooming in and out) suggests that this only affects a certain small range of screen sizes, which your screen presumably falls into. Very big and very small screens don't suffer the problem. I've added a line of code to clear the picture's location which seems to have fixed it as far as I can test. Wikimpedia conference

I knew that Wikimania is actually a Wikipedia conference in oppose to what is claimed on the main page. The prove: Everything that is not Wikipedia-related is labeled Sister Projects. 77.13.234.124 19:50, 7 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
