Talk:Submission review
Thank you
I know it's a very big task to thoughtfully review each of these submissions and I thank the committee for doing it. Sharihareswara (WMF) (talk) 11:07, 2 May 2013 (UTC)
Duplicates and slots setup
How are you dealing with duplicate or very similar submissions? I see that some authors sent multiple extremely similar submissions which are all getting rather high "votes". Even if very similar submissions (from same or multiple authors) are accepted, it's crucial that similar or complementing submissions are in the same slots so that they are coordinated or at least people giving/attending them can meet each other, which was usually not the case in past Wikimanias. --Nemo 08:44, 12 May 2013 (UTC)
- Shouldn't that be the other way around? If the submissions are scheduled at the same time it will divide the audience and prevent the people giving them from meeting, won't it? MPelletier (WMF) (talk) 15:09, 12 May 2013 (UTC)
- I meant same slot as in same 1.5h or whatever slot in same room, not same time in different rooms of course. :) --Nemo 15:19, 12 May 2013 (UTC)
- Oh, right, you mean trying to make related presentations consecutive so that the audience can carry over. That makes a lot of sense. MPelletier (WMF) (talk) 16:26, 12 May 2013 (UTC)

Presenters not attending
Hi, I just found out that the presenter of one of the highest-score submissions won't be able to attend due to travel costs. While I am afraid that there is nothing to do for the presenter right now :((( does the submissions'evaluation come before granting scolarships? Do the chapters take notice of the interest which a submission raised both among attendees and the jury? Thanks, --151.42.218.241 15:29, 10 June 2013 (UTC) (Elitre)
