Vegetarians?

This page is fine for me and I suspect the majority of Wikimanians. But at every Wikimania that I've attended we have had quite a few vegetarians and probably some vegans, as well as some editors who don't insist on things be completely kosher or halal, but who don't want to eat pork, plus some Hindi editors who don't eat beef. Can you identify some options for them? WereSpielChequers (talk) 00:14, 18 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

We are aware that we have a good number of vegetarians in our group. Capable to provide vegetarians food and other options are some of criteria when we are selecting catering provider. Simon Shek/石 (talk) 15:46, 2 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Meals provided

It might also be an idea to add a sentence at the begining of this section reminding people as to which meals will be provided. If so it would also be helpful if you could reassure people that there will be vegetarian and other pork free choices available at each meal that you are arranging, and that the vegetarian and pork free options will be clearly marked. We had one Wikimania in years past where one meal provided was a choice of different absolutely lovely types of pork. Personally I was spoiled for choice, but I did feel a little guilty that others had nothing they considered edible. WereSpielChequers (talk) 00:14, 18 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

This page is mostly about what to do in Hong Kong outside of the conference schedule. The details of catering provisions are still in the early stages of discussion. Details will be put up on the schedule page when we have them. Deryck Chan (talk) 08:35, 18 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
