Abstract

Wars, civil strife, and acts of terror compete for headlines in the modern world, alongside acts of bravery, resistance, and attempts to hold onto humaneness in the midst of horrors of every kind. The study of Political and International Relations may seem mundane by comparison, but it is in fact central to all of these glimpses of the contemporary human condition, for the political management of economic production and redistribution has profound consequences for who gets what, and with what consequences.
