What actually needs to be done?

PS. Hong Kong is a sensitive topic. Therefore, avoid politicising things unless intentional or absolutely necessary, eg. avoid appending ", China" to Hong Kong. Deryck Chan (talk) 17:32, 8 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, yeah I noticed your edit. As Wikimania:Information Desk has now been created, that will just been to be watched - so that page is complete. :) The Helpful One 17:34, 8 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Main page

I doubt anything broke? There is a problem, however, of the words "main page" now displaying on top of the main page. Are we letting it stay, or is there some setting to remove it? Deryck Chan (talk) 22:16, 11 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The problem was that going directly to wikimania2013.wikimedia.org took me to Main page but there was nothing on it, so I moved Main Page over to that new page so that we would actually see something on the Main Page. I'll look into hiding the display title (the words "Main page"). The Helpful One 22:28, 11 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Fixed with the "Main page" display title, I had to tweak Common.cs to reflect the new page name. The Helpful One 22:34, 11 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Also we now have a sidebar whose link items are half hard-coded, half MediaWiki: coded. Aren't they supposed to be consistent? Deryck Chan (talk) 22:20, 11 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I think we need it in the form of page-url then create MediaWiki:Page-url as that will allow it to be done automatically from whatever their language preferences are. The Helpful One 22:28, 11 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

What can I do for you?

I'm from Shenyang, China. I've been Hong Kong twice. I'm going to attend both Wikimania 2012 in D.C. and Wikimania 2013 in Hong Kong. I think I will have some experience on Wikimania 2012, so I want to do some thing for Wikimania 2013 as possible as I can, and what can I do for you? --Shujenchang (talk) 17:06, 19 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Whenever I try to import a page from wikimania2012wiki, it throws up an "Import failed: Bad interwiki link" error message. Is there something wrong with the settings that can be fixed? Deryck Chan (talk) 00:24, 1 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hmm, that's odd - I checked the settings but can't find anything that could be causing an issue, it doesn't appear to work for wikimania2011wiki either but does work for Meta-Wiki. I'll ask a dev for more information. The Helpful One 00:32, 1 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
